Students and adults are invited to submit original artwork to be exhibited at the free, community-wide Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) celebration on Monday, April 19, 6:35-9 p.m., at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation, 27501 Fairmount Blvd., Pepper Pike.

With the theme of “Israel: Sababa (cool, great, awesome)!,” the exhibit will be one of several family-friendly activities that will immediately follow the 6 p.m. solemn Yom Hazikaron (Day of Remembrance) ceremony commemorating those who gave their lives for Israel.  The entire evening is hosted by the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland and B’nai Jeshurun Congregation, with the support of Michael Zweig, J.P. Morgan; the Cleveland Jewish News and local synagogues, agencies, schools and organizations.  Co-chairs are Laura Goldberg, Michael Haas & Raquel Flatow Haas.

Artwork should be from 8 ½” x 11” to 24” x 36” and include the artist’s name on the front.  Art must be brought to the B’nai Jeshurun administrative office or the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland by Thursday, April 8.  This is not a juried show; it is an opportunity to display the community’s work.  Submissions can be reclaimed after 9 p.m. on Monday, April 19, or until April 26, at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation.  For additional information, please contact the Federation at 216.344.8270.
