The Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland is funding a pilot program in partnership with the PresenTense Group to develop three innovative Jewish ventures put forth by community members.

This competitive fellowship, available to three outstanding young individuals, will begin by identifying social entrepreneurs in the Cleveland area and equipping them with the resources needed to launch their ideas.  Fellows will be sent to The PresenTense Summer Institute, a six week training program in Jerusalem, where these young entrepreneurs will connect with innovators from around the world and develop the resources to bring their social innovation to sustainable fruition.

Once the fellows return from their training in Jerusalem, they will take part in “boardroom hopping” where they will meet Cleveland’s most accomplished entrepreneurs – men and women who have built their organizations from the bottom up and who can impart the invaluable lessons and skills they have learned along the way.

In the final six months of this program, fellows receive a stipend and professional support as they work in the community to fully develop and formalize their idea.

“The Cleveland Federation is serious about developing groundbreaking programs to engage the Jewish community,” said Aharon Horwitz, co-Director and co-Founder of PresenTense. “We are very eager to be joining forces to help develop Cleveland as a hub of Jewish innovation and inspiration.”

“This program is going to bring out the real gems of the Cleveland community and ensure its vibrancy,” noted Steve Rosen, head of the Cleveland PresenTense Fellowship Steering Committee. “We are constantly looking for ways to think big, challenge norms, and create a culture where dreams to improve society can be supported and actualized.”

“Cleveland is blessed with engaged, talented and creative thinkers. Matched with PresenTense’s proven ability in training young entrepreneurs in implementing their ideas, our community will be a leader in bringing innovative and inspiring ideas to life.” said Stephen H. Hoffman, President of the Federation.
