JFSA Now Accepting Applications for Berger Scholarship

Jewish Family Service Association is accepting applications for the Jack W. and Shirley J. Berger Scholarship. The fund was established in 1988, by two former Clevelanders to assist and encourage students entering college to attain academic excellence within a secular institution. Qualifications include:

  • Must exhibit financial need.
  • Must be a resident of Cuyahoga County or its surrounding counties.
  • Must be a high school senior with a minimum 3.5 GPA in high school.
  • Minimum SAT 1900 minimum ACT 27.
  • Priority given, but not limited, to students attending an Ohio state supported school.
  • Must take a college course in comparative religion.
  • Must be a full time student seeking a secular education.

Students awarded this scholarship can receive funding of $2,000 each year up to 4 years of college if a 3.0 GPA is maintained.  Any interested student should obtain an application from their Guidance office. The deadline for submissions is MARCH 4, 2011.
