For a second year, the Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Network (JVN) and the National Council of Jewish Women, Cleveland Section, (NCJW, CS) are partnering with area synagogues, day schools and other Jewish organizations in Operation Warm-Up, an effort to collect items for the homeless community.  Co-chairs are Rachel Heiser, Jewish Federation volunteer and Susie Stern, NCJW, CS volunteer.

The following new items are needed for men, women and children: winter hats, waterproof gloves/mittens, and pre-packaged socks and underwear.  These items will be donated to InterAct Cleveland’s Homeless Stand Down on January 30, 2011.

Donations can be dropped off at The Mandel JCC (26001 S. Woodland Rd., Beachwood), or NCJW (26055 Emery Rd., Warrensville Heights).  The collection ends January 20, 2011.  For more information, please contact JVN Director Karen Steiger at 216.593.2900, ext. 130 or ksteiger@jcfcleve.org, or NCJW, CS Director of Volunteers Leslye Arian at 216.378.4402 or larian@ncjwcleveland.org.
