Charitable Tax Seminar for Professionals on June 2

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Professional Advisory Council is hosting the 39th annual Charitable Tax Seminar entitled, “Helping Your Clients Live Well Today & Plan for Tomorrow.”  Topics will include estate planning for today’s times, charitable planning and donor intent, understanding inheritance controversies, bond portfolios in a volatile fixed income market and a conversation on welcoming newcomers through the Global Cleveland Initiative.

The seminar is on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, Mandel Building, 25701 Science Park Drive, Beachwood.  Registration and a continental breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. (kosher dietary laws observed).  The program starts at 8:00 a.m., includes lunch with a speaker and concludes at 1:30 p.m.  Cost is $70 per person (not deductible for charitable tax purposes), which includes registration, seminar materials, certification as appropriate for 3.50 hours of presentations, breakfast and lunch.  There is no charge for summer and first-year associates.

The seminar is designed to assist accountants, attorneys, trust officers, and financial and insurance professionals in advising their clients on estate planning, tax and charitable issues, thereby benefiting both donors and charitable organizations.  Credits are confirmed for attorneys, accountants and certified financial planners.  The Federation has applied for continuing education credits for insurance professionals.
