Clifford Sussman received the 2010 Ambassador Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Young Campaigner of the Year Award from the Jewish Federation of Cleveland at the 2011 Campaign for Jewish Needs Closing event last night at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple.

The Wolf Award honors a volunteer, age 40 or younger, who demonstrates exceptional leadership in the Federation’s annual Campaign, and encourages them to remain committed to this vital community.  The award was presented by the daughter of Amb. Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf, Dr. Nancy Wolf, who said to Sussman, “You are a strategic thinker, you lead with passion and enthusiasm, with a deep rooted commitment to upholding the values of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (making the world a better place), and with a genuine warmth and caring in the interactions you have with everyone you encounter.”

A member of the Federation’s Young Leadership Division (YLD), Sussman served as the 2010 board chair, and was vice chair in 2009.  He co-chaired the YLD’s annual Campaign for Jewish Needs in 2008, and participated in the Jewish Federations of North America Young Leadership Washington Conference in 2008.  Sussman also served on the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Board of Trustees and Executive Committee as an invitee, and currently serves on the Professional Advisory Council.  He also serves as a board member and treasurer of Spaces Gallery, and on the Development Committee of The Bellflower Center for Prevention of Child Abuse.

Upon learning that he is the next Wolf Award recipient, Sussman said, “I am honored and humbled to receive the Wolf Award.  It is a privilege to be included among a list of past recipients, many of whom have become leaders in our community.  I have been involved with Federation for a number of years now and over that period of time have been fortunate to share in the great work of this organization.  My family and I have lived in Cleveland for over twelve years and consider ourselves very fortunate to be part of such an amazing Jewish community.  Federation has allowed me the opportunity to give back to the community through an organization that makes such a difference. ”

As the award recipient, Sussman receives an all-expense-paid trip on a Jewish Federation of Cleveland or a Jewish Federations of North America mission to Israel, and a hand-calligraphied citation.  Sussman is the director of the Entrepreneurial Services Group at SS&G.  He resides in Solon with his wife, Tanya, and their three sons.

Amb. Milton A. Wolf and his wife Roslyn Z. Wolf, both of blessed memory, understood the vital importance of the Federation’s Campaign to the stability of the Jewish community at home and around the world.  The inaugural Wolf Award was presented in 2003, one year before the Ambassador passed away.  The award was created by Amb. Wolf and his children to honor the memory of Roslyn.
