The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is hosting a series of fun, friendly and affordable events for college students in Cleveland for the summer. Cleveland Hillel Foundation Summer Internship participant Molly Rzepka is busy organizing meet-ups and events at street fairs, concerts, plays, restaurants and other hip places. JFSA YouthAbility Volunteers To Sell Locally-Grown Produce at Fresh Markets

Jewish Family Service Association’s YouthAbility program is partnering with CleveLand Crops and the Mandel Jewish Community Center to bring Fresh Markets to the community this summer. YouthAbility volunteers will sell locally-grown, seasonal produce at the JCC on Tuesday June 28, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  YouthAbility empowers youth with disabilities and at-risk youth with volunteer opportunities in the community. CleveLand Crops is an employment program with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. It turns inner-city area farms and employs people with disabilities to work at the farms. Volunteers to Help Beautify Hebrew Cultural Garden

On Sunday, June 12, 2011, from 9-11 a.m., volunteers are invited to participate in Brunch & Bloom, an annual family-friendly event organized by the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jewish Volunteer Network (JVN). Volunteers will plant flowers, clean beds and restore the beauty of the Hebrew Cultural Garden, the Jewish community’s contribution to Cleveland’s Cultural Gardens. Kid-friendly activities will include garden activities and crafts for kids of all ages. Volunteers can register online at www.jewishcleveland.org/volunteer or by calling 216.593.2900, ext. 227.

The Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Network (JVN) provides meaningful direct service volunteer opportunities for the Jewish community to engage in the work of repairing the world – tikkun olam.

JFSA’s Food Pantry is collecting bags or boxes of rice during the month of June. The pantry also accepts toiletries. Drop-off hours are 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday at 24075 Commerce Park Rd, Beachwood. Contact Keren Copeland with questions at 216.378.3426.
