Cleveland-Area Leaders to Mentor Israeli Future Civic Professionals with a Focus on Economic Development

Cleveland, OH–– From July 22 through 29, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host seven young Israelis. Part of Atidim: Cadets for the Public Sector, they represent a national Israeli organization that develops human resources to help close the socioeconomic gaps affecting the Israeli geographic periphery and disadvantaged communities. Atidim (Hebrew for “futures”) successfully creates life-changing opportunities for positive long-term impact on civic leadership.

Since 2005 when a multi-city three-week U.S. component was added to the curriculum, Cleveland has had an important role in the Atidim program. Over the past six years, nearly 100 cadets have spent an intensive week meeting Greater Cleveland civic and community leaders, through an itinerary planned by the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, coordinating partner. Volunteer Help Needed for Jewish Family Service Association

JFSA is looking for additional volunteers on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings to deliver fresh, kosher meals to frail, elderly and disabled adults. Allow approximately 2 1/2 hours to extend friendly greetings, deliver smiles and hot meals. Must have a strong desire to help people and enjoy working with older adults.
