Jewish Family Service Association’s “Magical Mystery Tour Bus” featuring Beatles tribute band “Revolution Pie” will take place on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Temple Emanu El, 4545 Brainard Road, Orange. A silent auction and raffle auctionare also part of the festivities. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Horvitz YouthAbility program, which serves disabled and at risk youth by engaging them in volunteer service, vocational activities, and social enrichment. YouthAbility participants help themselves byhelping others.


Tickets are $100 per person for the VIP Light Supper Reception, which starts at 6:00 p.m. and$50 for General Admission and Dessert Reception, which starts at 7:15 pm (doors open 7:00). Purchase tickets on-line at

Nancy K. Levin of Pepper Pike became the fourth recipient of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Ruby Bass Challenge Award, at the Lion of Judah event on October 5. Lions of Judah are women who make individual gifts of $5,000 or more to the Federation’s annual Campaign for Jewish Needs. The annual award, established in memory of Ruby Bass by her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Stephany Bass, and Stephany’s mother, Lenore Kessler, recognizes Ruby’s lifelong passion for and commitment to the Federation and the Women’s Campaign. Dine Out To Stop Domestic Violence

 October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On Monday, October 3rd, Jewish Family Service Association’s Know Abuse teen dating violence prevention program is holding its 3rd annual fundraiser “You Dine. They Donate.” with Cleveland-area restaurants. The restaurants have agreed to donate 10-20 % of sales with a flyer to Know Abuse.
